Lieven
Brouwers, MSc International Relations (2006)
Lieven holds a Master of Law from the University of Leuven
(KUL), a Master in Human Rights from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve
(UCL) and an MSc International Relations from the LSE. Currently
he works independently in legal and international affairs.
Previously he worked in a think tank on EU politics and in
a law firm in Brussels. He is interested in international
politics, human rights and languages. He enjoys music, cooking,
reading and travelling.

Florian
Köbele, MSc International Political Economy
(2007)
Florian studied International Politics and
History at the University of Heidelberg in Germany and International
Political Economy at the LSE. Currently he is working in the
Secretariat-General of the European Commission as Assistant
to the G8 and G20 Sherpa of the European Union. He previously
worked at the German Bundestag and the European Parliament.
In his free time, he enjoys travelling the world and doing
all kinds of sports. |

Elena Arène, BSc Government (1999)
Elena holds an undergraduate degree in Government from the
LSE. She formerly worked in the field of Corporate Communications
for a large multi-national company and in European Public
Affairs for a political consultancy in Brussels. Currently
she works independently in the areas of strategic communications,
fundraising and event management. Elena likes following international
politics and third world development issues and enjoys cooking
for friends, concerts at the Ancienne Belgique and theatre
at Le Public. |

Helene
Banner, MSc Politics and Government in the EU (2009)
Helene currently works in the press team of EU Trade Commissioner
Karel De Gucht in the European Commission and previously gained
working experience in various German and European public institutions
and media. Before specialising on EU Politics at the LSE,
she studied Politics and Communication in Münster (Germany)
and Lille (France). She also acts as "head of the German
section of "The Euros", a multi-lingual website
on European affairs with the aim of launching EU debates among
citizens. |

Thomas Cole, MSc Global Politics (2007)
Thomas holds an undergraduate Degree in History and Politics
from the University of Edinburgh and an MSc in Global Politics
from the LSE. He formerly worked for the European Commission
Delegation to the United States as well as the UK’s magazine
industry and now works for the political consultancy group g+europe.
In his spare time, he enjoys sports, cooking, travelling and
learning new languages. |

Joana
Cruz, MSc European Politics and Governance (2007)
Joana currently
works in the European External Action Service. She previously
worked for the European Commission and at the European Policy
Centre in Brussels. Before specialising in European Politics
and EU Foreign Policy at the LSE, she studied International
Relations at the Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais
e Politicas in Lisbon. In her free time, Joana enjoys writing,
travelling, cooking and playing basketball. She is passionate
about cinema and photography.

Audrey Dereymaeker,
MSc Criminal Justice Policy (2009)
Audrey did her Bachelor in Politics at the
Facultés Universitaires Saint-Louis in Brussels and
her Master in International and Comparative Politics at the
KULeuven in Leuven. She was graduated with MSc Criminal Justice
Policy at the LSE in 2009. After doing the European Commission
Summer Stage 2010, she is a political advisor to the green
members of the Belgian Federal Parliament. In her spare time,
Audrey loves dancing, watching movies and travelling.

Laurent
Donceel, MSc International Political Economy (2007)
Currently at g+europe, Laurent holds masters in International
Relations and in European Studies from the Catholic University
of Louvain-la-neuve (UCL) and an MSc in International Political
Economy from the LSE. Raised in the Middle East and with an
extensive international experience, Laurent has been involved
in various student societies (LSE European Society, AUEL,
OrganeKot-a-projet, Unicef) and in youth movements (Les Scouts).
Fine arts, travels and nature are among his main hobbies. |

Christopher
Kalla-Bishop, MSc Economics (1975)
Christopher graduated from LSE in 1975 with
a degree in Economics, having specialised in the economics
of industry, and later gained an MBA from the London Business
School. He has pursued a career in the international transport
and distribution industry and has worked in the rail, container,
parcels and mail sectors. He is currently a director of the
International Post Corporation SCRL, a mail, parcels and logistics
joint-venture company located in Brussels. |

Dorlin Muresan, MSc. Public Policy and Administration
(2006)
Dorlin studied management and public administration, obtaining
master degrees from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest
and from the LSE. Interested in institutional capacity building,
she was active in project management and consultancy for NGOs,
prior to working with the public administration in Romania and
then within the European Commission. She currently works for
the Council of the EU. Since living in Brussels she enjoys discovering
Belgium as a country, and hopes she will be able to pursue this
interest further. |

Peter van Strijthem, Msc European studies
(1991) Peter studied International Relations and International
Economics at the American University of Paris before graduating
in European Studies at the LSE. After having lived and worked
in Holland, UK, France and Germany, Peter now runs his family's
furniture company in Brussels.

Jens Werner,
General Course (Law) (2001)
Jens studied law at the Universities of Würzburg
and Bonn as well as at the LSE. After his German bar exam,
he worked as an intern for the European Commission and did
a Ph.D. in the field of competition law. He is currently working
for the Brussels office of the law firm Gleiss Lutz. Jens
has been involved in the European Law Students’ Association
(ELSA) and enjoys travelling, playing tennis and all kinds
of cultural activities. |
