Roderick ABBOTT (Visiting Fellow at the LSE)

Currently, Roderick Abbott is senior Trade Adviser at Kreab & Gavin Anderson and Senior Trade Adviser at ECIPE. He is a former Deputy Director General of the World Trade Organisation. He has also served as Deputy Director General of DG Trade in the European Commission and as EU Ambassador to Geneva.

Baron Paul BUYSSE CMG, CBE

Baron Paul Buysse is Chairman of the Prince Filip Foundation and VideoHouse and a Co-Chairman of the Belgo-British Conference. Among other positions, he is also serving as Chairman of the College of Censors of the National Bank of Belgium and as a Member of the Executive Committee of the Federation of Belgian Industry. He is the British Honorary Consul-General for Great Britain.

 

Etienne DE CALLATAY (LSE Alumnus)

Currently, Etienne de Callatay is an Economic Advisor and Chairman of the Board at Orcadia Asset Management. He is a former Chief Economist at Bank Degroof and former Head of Staff of the Belgian Minister of Finance and Deputy Head of Staff of the Belgian Prime Minister. Previously he served at the Central Bank of Belgium and at the IMF.

 

 

Karel DE GUCHT

A Board Member of ArcelorMittal, Karel de Gucht is a former European Commissioner for Trade and a former Commissioner for Development and Humanitarian Aid. He has also served as Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Member of the Belgian House of Representatives and Member of the European Parliament.

Nicola HARRINGTON-BUHAY (LSE Alumna)

Currently, Nicola Harrington-Buhay is the Deputy Director at the OECD Development Centre. She was previously the Deputy Director for Policy and Communications of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). As a UN official she served on four continents and led the organisation's development policy engagement with the European Union.

Philippe JADOUL

Philippe Jadoul is CEO of Vialegis International, Partner at Vista Capital Advisors and Board member of De Warande. He is the former President of the Council of the British Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and a former Partner at Altius.

Patrick JANSSENS (LSE Alumnus)

Patrick Janssens is the former Mayor of Antwerp and a former Councilor of the City of Antwerp for the Flemish Socialist Party. He is also a former Member of the Belgian Parliament.

Michiel VAN HULTEN (Visiting Fellow at the LSE)

Michiel van Hulten is an independent Consultant at Place Lux sprl. He is the former Managing Director and Head of Government Relations at Burson-Marsteller Brussels. He has also served as a Member of the European Parliament and the Chair of the Dutch Labour Party. He is a founding member of the European Council on Foreign Relations.

Lode WILLEMS

Lode Willems is an adviser to the CEO and COO of BNP Paribas Fortis. He has served as an Ambassador of Belgium to the UK, Germany and the United Nations in Geneva. He is also a former Belgian Deputy Permanent Representative to the European Union and a former Chief of Cabinet of the Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs.
