1. What types of membership does the LSE AAB offer?

The LSE AAB offers two types of membership:

a) Paying Membership

Paying membership is open to both LSE Alumni and non-LSE Alumni, whom we call Friends of the LSE, for an annual fee of 25 euros.

Paying LSE Alumni enjoy many benefits:

  • Privileged access to all of our events, including panel discussions, socials and cultural events. Most of the events are free of charge for them.
  • Exclusive use of our vacancies board where companies share professional opportunities with our network
  • Exclusive access to our Alumni Directory

Paying Friends of the LSE membership is an option for non-alumni who would like to attend our events. As an association open to the wider society we welcome people who share our school's spirit and would like to take part in our activities even if they haven't studied there and are not connected to an alumnus/a. Paying Friends of the LSE are invited to the majority of our events, however certain services are reserved for our alumni.

b) Non-Paying Membership

Non-paying membership is also open to both LSE Alumni and Friends of the LSE. Non-paying members can receive our monthly newsletter and attend a limited number of our events, such as our monthly drinks. Non-paying members can always upgrade by logging into their profile and paying the annual membership fee.

2. How can I register as a member?

To register as a member, you can click on the “Register” button at the top of the page.

For specific questions about your membership status, please contact us.

Disclaimer: The data that LSE alumni provide to become members are shared with the LSE to verify their alumni status. We will never share the personal information of our members with any other third party.

3. How will my membership fee be used?

Membership fees are the main source of funding for LSE AAB's activities. They help the association meet its financial needs, organise events of high quality, subsidise certain activities and develop new initiatives, such as our new website.

All the board members are non-remunerated volunteers and the association’s budget is strictly used for the benefit of its members.

4. How can I volunteer for the LSE AAB?

We are always happy to hear from LSE alumni who would like to be part of our team.

Paying LSE alumni can join the Executive Board. Board members are expected to commit a minimum of six months, take on responsibilities and attend the board meetings. They are assigned specific roles, but also have many opportunities to take initiatives and contribute to other projects.

If you don’t have enough time or you would like to work on a specific project, you can join us as a non-board member volunteer. Non-board member volunteers focus on a task without further involvement in the management of the association.

We publish calls for volunteers approximately once per year. You can also send us at any point your CV and a few words on why you would like to join us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

5. Are there other ways to get involved?

There are many ways to get involved. You can let your organisation know that we are accepting job adverts or submit the vacancies yourself. You can find more information about our career services here. You can also write an article for our blog or send us your news and activities and we may feature them on the LSE Alumni Community Corner of our monthly newsletter (unfortunately we don’t publish anything related to real estate). Please contact us for more information.

Furthermore, if you or your company would like to become sponsors, please visit our Sponsors section.
