LSE Alumni Association Belgium (”We”) are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This policy (together with our terms of use and any other documents referred to on it) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act), the data controller is GoDaddy.

Our nominated representative for the purpose of the Act is the President of the LSE Alumni Association Belgium, whose name is listed on the Executive Board page of the website.

  • Information you give us. This is information about you that you give us by filling in forms on our site or by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise. The information you give us may include your name, birthdate, nationality, resident city, employment details, e-mail address and phone number, financial and credit card information, LSE graduation details, personal description and photograph.

With regard to each of your visits to our site we will automatically collect the following information: technical information, including the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, information about your visit, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL), clickstream to, through and from our site (including date and time), pages you viewed or searched for, page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), methods used to browse away from the page, and any phone number used to contact us.

Our website does not use cookies to distinguish you from other users of our website.

  1. to confirm your alumni status with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE);
  2. to provide you with information and services you request from us;
  3. to provide you with information and services you may be interested in;
  4. to notify you about changes to our service;

4.1       the London School of Economics and Political Science;

4.2       any member of our executive board;

This includes exchanging information with companies, security services, and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

5. WHERE WE WILL STORE YOUR PERSONAL DATA

The data that we collect from you will be transferred to, and stored at, a destination inside the European Economic Area (”EEA”). It will be processed by staff operating inside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

All information you provide to us is stored on secure servers. Any payment transactions will be encrypted using SSL technology. Where we have given you, or where you have chosen, a password that enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted to our site; therefore, any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

You have the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Data Protection Act. Any access request will be subject to a fee of €10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.
