LSE AAB Mentorship Programme 2020-2021

September 28, 2020

Have a superpower (and want to share it)? Consider becoming a mentor to newly minted LSE graduates looking to break into the notoriously competitive Brussels job market.

Are you a new graduate, and feeling a little lost? Surely someone out there *must* have figured things out by now? Well, they can help!

The LSE Alumni Association Belgium is launching its inaugural LSE AAB Mentorship Programme, slated to run from November 2020 to September 2021. Whether you are an experienced professional working in Belgium or a recent graduate already in the land of moules-frites (or looking to come here in the near future), this programme is for you.

In this challenging period -- where home working is becoming the norm and when an unprecedented economic crisis has blown up the job market -- the LSE AAB is launching a mentorship programme to help graduates find that next opportunity, acquire a better understanding of the Brussels playing field and the skills employers are on the lookout for, and find out how to stand out from the crowd.

As a mentor or mentee, you will be paired up by the LSE AAB board based on your motivation and professional experience. As a mentee, you will then have the opportunity to improve your resumé, expand your network, and brainstorm your next career step. As a mentor, you will get the chance to pass your knowledge and skills on to someone who dearly needs the right advice to break into the job market, to make a career change, and to gain a foothold in a new country.

In terms of time commitment, expect to have a minimum of four 1-hour long quality meetings during the run of the programme. Want to do more and meet more often? Be our guest! The sky's the limit.

Have we piqued your interest? If you would like to take part in our mentorship programme as a mentor or as a mentee, please fill out this short form. It should only take a few minutes.

* Please note that applying to the programme is free, but in order to be matched with a mentor, mentees must become paying members of the LSE AAB.

Deadline to apply: 23:59 CET on 2 November 2020.
