Women have made great strides in the professional workforce over the past 50 years. Still, few can say that their progress feels unobstructed.
To coincide with the International Women’s Day, the LSE Alumni Association Belgium is happy to invite you to our event “Women in Leadership”. We will explore female leadership in the world of work in Brussels and Europe. By profiling accomplished women – from business, civil society, and government – we aim to bring together a collection of stories and experiences on how these women navigate the world of work. Our event will give you the opportunity to speak with high-profile women who will impart advice to the next generation of aspiring female leaders on lessons learnt and tips on how to lead and succeed.
With these remarkable women, we will explore areas such as the absence of women at the top of organisations, the confidence gap, and cultural and institutional barriers to female success.
Join us for a chat with Natasha Bertaud, Deputy Head of Cabinet of Vice-President Margaritis Schinas at the European Commission, Kanika Seth, UK leader for Cybersecurity and the EMEIA leader for Third Party Management at EY, Lucia Kleštincová, EU policy-maker, career coach, author and host of podcast “Lights on Europe” and Dr. Mandeep Rai, Author of the international bestseller “The Values Compass”. Lucia is an outstanding advocate for the transformation of EU public service, not least through feminine leadership. She is not only a proud LSE alumna and EU policy-maker, but also a podcast host, founder of several women’s networks and a coach of change-makers, helping them to magnify their impact. During seven years of career at the European Commission in Brussels, Lucia’s responsibilities ranged from Brexit coordination, through digital government procurement, to rolling out gender equality in the EU policies. Her experience of running in the 2019 European elections was one of the breakthrough moments that reinforced her commitment to empower other women in unleashing their voice. The light Lucia carries in her name has become her ultimate signature: check out her YouTube channel or podcast Lights on Europe to experience her interviewing guests from behind the scenes of the EU bubble - the best is captured in her book on values guiding careers of leaders in Brussels.
